Mosaic of God

Mosaic of God is the new non-profit organization I formed on March 1, 2019, in Mississippi, which qualifies under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)3 as a tax exempt organization.

The Mission Statement is:

To reach out to men and women with the love of God and the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Bible to help Christians lead victorious lives, and to bring encouragement and hope to those who are hurting from life challenges.

The Vision /Goals are:

  • To tell the Good News of Jesus Christ
  • To teach the Bible
  • To do good works in God’s Name

The Bible verses I listed on the application with the State of Mississippi were:

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Government for the People by Grandma Lynne

I complain so much with my thoughts and verbally about the problems in our country, I need to express my opinions and ideas about solutions. So, here goes…

The following is what I believe would be common sense government. I probably am not thinking of everything, and I welcome your civil comments and look forward to discussing these ideas and others.

Government — whether national, state, or local — should be uncomplicated, straightforward, and common sense. Our elected officials and equal-percentage income and other taxes paid by everyone should provide for common services, i.e., police and equipment and judges to enforce simple, straight-forward laws with set consequences; firefighters and equipment; infrastructure; schools kindergarten through junior college; and hospitals and medical care including for mental disabilities.

For example, it would be a deterrent to crime if everyone knew the consequences for breaking laws, if those consequences were tough enough, and if all laws are enforced in a timely manner without parole (which inserts a variable). Laws should be simple enough that no one needs a lawyer. Prosecutors should simply present evidence including witnesses; someone accused should defend themself; and a judge, judges, or jury should give a verdict.

Ok, I’m going to go off on tangents as I think of them…

Free speech is vital, of course, but needs to be exercised in a manner that does not break simple laws or keep someone else from their free speech or free use of sidewalks, roads, or facilities. Violence or property damage should be stopped and the perpetrators arrested and punished with simple, straight-forward laws.
Demonstrators should not be allowed to keep a scheduled speaker from speaking. They should be quiet during a scheduled speech or be removed from the room.

Immigration laws should be enforced. If they aren’t acceptable to the public as they are, then the laws should be changed. But, whatever the laws are must be enforced.

Federal laws trump state and local laws, and state laws trump local laws. The federal law must be enforced everywhere or changed and enforced.

And another thing, if a state flag needs to be changed, then let the people decide; but whatever the state flag, it must be flown by state and local government and public offices and institutions. If individuals don’t like the flag, then they should use legal means to have it changed. But, as long as it’s the flag, it should be respected as such. If individuals want to fly a flag of gay rights or the former confederate flag, that is an individual right but neither should be flown by public or government offices or institutions. If an individual’s flag or property is vandalized, then the perpetrator should receive the previously set consequences for property damage.

There is the issue of making the consequences different if a crime is a “hate” crime. This is unnecessary and further complicates the enforcement of laws. Any crime should have a set consequence without any need to decide motive.

Going back to the issue of the use of our taxes. They should be used in our country and not in other countries. Humanitarian aid should be provided by humanitarian organizations who are funded by voluntary contributions. We should not have to buy friendship or loyalty from other governments. Often money that is given is, evidently, not used for good purposes. We Americans have made our country what we want it to be with sacrifice and hard work. Other citizens of other countries should do as they please for their country. In the early days of our struggle for independence, we were helped by other country(s). And, some small countries would be taken-over by larger ones without our help. So, I can see helping another country have their own independence if it is a democracy so the people run things and if they are working for their own independence. If the people of other countries let themselves be controlled by a dictator, then they are allowing those consequences. We should not and cannot force democracy on other countries.

It makes no sense that we give money to other countries and borrow money from China.

Ok, I’m tired so I’ll stop for now and let the discussion, I hope, begin. I look forward to hearing others ideas.

These will make a beautiful birthday or Christmas gift!!

Be sure to get your bluebird house up before spring, so the happy parents can pick your house for their nest. I recommend you nail the birdhouse to a post or tree through the chimney of the house.

You’ll get the joy of watching them build the nest, sit on the eggs, and feed their young.

My husband cuts out the wood from a pattern we made. One or both of us construct the birdhouse, and then I paint and decorate each one. Each item is unique and one-of-a-kind. Effort will be made to make the one you order similar to the picture, but it will not be exactly the same.

Maiden Voyage — is it a voyage if it’s a travel trailer?

This was #33 at DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Arkansas, Thursday, October 5, until Monday morning, October 9, 2017.

Wed the 4th, I left home in the country in northern, central Mississippi, pulling my travel trailer, aka Violet, to Fort Pickens, Florida, and then on to the Seafood Festival in Destin, Florida, I thought. I stopped 100 miles south in the capital, Jackson, met my daughter Melissa at Chili’s for supper and boondocked in the Office Depot parking lot. In the meantime that evening someone messaged me and asked if I had seen the forecasts about Hurricane Nate. In my busy packing and loading, I had not checked the weather that day. Oops! So, I started looking for alternatives in the opposite directions, because I WAS going camping somewhere. The next morning (Thursday the 5th) I picked up my girlfriend Bren, and we headed for Arkansas.

Side note…when I called Arkansas Park Reservations that morning, Degray Lake State Park had an opening for that night and Sat and Sunday nights but not Friday. While I was still on the phone figuring out what to do, a cancellation came in for Friday night. So I’m thanking God cause He does things like that!

We pulled in after dark and 2 very nice guys parked with their wives right across from us, came over immediately to see if we’d like help backing in. I’m new at backing and really appreciated their directions, esp in the dark!

The first night, I woke about 3am to find the toilet full and running over with fresh water from either a leak or I think maybe the flushing mechanism was stuck open just a little. It only got part of the bathroom floor wet and could have been much worse. The next morning I dumped the tank and the rest of the time we used the clean water tank instead of staying hooked to the water all the time. I put water in the clean water tank twice and sprayed myself really good both times. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR FILLING IT WITHOUT SPRAYING SELF?? I tried it with and without a funnel and later bought a funnel with a flexible tube which I haven’t tried yet.

I don’t care how LIGHT my Aerolite is supposed to be, cranking it up off the hitch is CHALLENGING at 67yo. So, I think an electric hitch is on my wish list. lol

We drank coffee outside in the morning coolness,

Peaceful Morning.jpg

cooked hot dogs on a fire in the grill one night (after starting it in the fire pit and being told a burn ban had been declared that day).

Explored Hot Springs one day.

Ate at a wonderful buffet in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at the Western Sizzlin’. Ate great seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf in Hot Springs and fed the geese. The restaurant at the lodge at the park where we camped had great food and great views of the lake.

On Saturday, we managed to watch college football on our cell phones by opening my AT&T IPhone 7 hotspot and logging in with my home Direct TV provider. Neat!

Monday we headed back to Jackson, and I dropped off my girlfriend. I boondocked in the Office Depot parking lot with plans to drive the 100 miles home Tuesday morning. I decided not to turn on the generator, so I opened windows and tried to sleep without my CPAP machine. They were emptying dumpsters later, and I was hot, so about 3 am I decided to start the generator. I got it started with no problem, plugged in the heavy-duty extension cord and took the other end back to the camper elec cord/plug and couldn’t find the yellow adapter I had taken off at the campsite. So, I turned off the generator and packed up to go on home. I drove 3 exits north, bought gas at a truck stop, decided to sleep at a closed Texaco across the street, slept in the pickup with the camper locked, woke up the next morning and they were open, got out to get coffee and locked my keys in the truck. The REALLY stupid thing, and I can only laugh at myself, is that I bought a combination lock box but hadn’t yet fixed it with extra keys and hung it outside. I sat on the curb in the rain, to wait for a Geico roadside assistance guy. The picture below is the Geico roadside assistance guy opening the lock. I was thankful, but it took 80 minutes waiting because they sent someone from across town instead of from the little town were I was. Ugh!Wedge and Balloon But, I got home safely about noon.

And, the trip was WONDERFUL!! For video, my YouTube channel is

These are excited times for me!!!Just Got Home with Violet Aug 24 2017

On my way home from going to Missouri for the total, solar eclipse, I bought my 1996 Aerolite 25′ travel trailer, aka VIOLET, in the Memphis area off of craigslist!! (after much research and avoiding a couple of scams)

She’s kinda old but in great shape for an older gal. We have been doing a few things to get her ready for camping. My husband, as I’ve said many times, can fix anything. And, even though this camper is kinda “my thing”, he has really stepped in to help like he always does. He is very special! For one big thing, he doesn’t discourage me from following a dream.

We have traveled a lot over our 24 years together before and after we got our Class C motorhome. We’ve been  all over the lower 48 together, as well as Hawaii, Jamaica, and Canada. During our married life, my youngest daughter and I have been to Europe twice. When hubby and I went through Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier and between, on our way to Seattle and British Columbia, we traveled in our motorhome. It is very comfortable, but their were two things we didn’t care for: 1) the terrible gas mileage and 2) not wanting to tow a vehicle and, therefore, not having a separate vehicle for errands and site-seeing.

Now we have retired to the country, so hubby is over his desire to travel (except maybe for one more trip to the Lobster Fest in Rockland, Maine), is content staying home with the animals who need care, and does not mind me continuing to travel. I plan to travel with family or girlfriends or solo with my grand-dog Annabelle, who now lives with us.

Annabelle January 31 (3)So, we’ve been getting Violet ready for camping… she needed a battery, a few light bulbs, the light fixtures washed, a license plate mounted, cabinets cleaned out and sanitized, a leak fixed under the kitchen sink, and the kitchen sink unclogged. We tried to open the awning for the first time today, and it looks usable but with some work on the frame connections. And, we ordered a spare tire.

Fitness Challenge

I have accepted the YouTube challenge of Jamie at Enigmatic Nomadics #enchallenge2017 to set my own goals to be reached by November 1, 2017 (2 months).

My goals are:

(1) to lose 20 lbs and

(2) to walk on my treadmill 6X per week.

I started my YouTube channel Molders Mosaic and posted beginning weight and measurements.

I am using to count calories and watch out for nutrition. Considering my long-range wt-loss goals, my calorie goal each day is a maximum of 1250 calories. I have been in this challenge two(2) days and have stayed under my max calories and walked on my treadmill each day.

I am looking forward to this journey!! If you want to join a challenge with me check out my YouTube channel and SUBSCRIBE and use #MoldersMosaicFitness to post your progress pictures on Instagram.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a friend sent me an article about Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) from Safflower Oil. I did some research online and decided to try it for muscle tone, appetite suppressing, and wt loss. The first few days, I immediately started gradually losing a little weight without changing my eating. I have found that I am more satisfied with the portion control I am using. It is a helpful strategy for me for wt loss to eat smaller meals more often — 5 or 6 per day — or what we might call 3 meals and 2 or 3 snacks. Feel free to use this link to Amazon to check out CLA, whether or not you are ready to buy it:

P.S. If you see products listed on this site that you want to look at on Amazon, use the links I post. It helps me fund my travel trailer adventures if you make your Amazon purchases through this site. Thank you in advance.
